· TYPE LOCALITY. S. Tajiki-stan, lower flow of Vakhsh River, Mt. Buritau.

· RANGE. Tajikistan (the Vakhshskaya Valley) and Turkmenia (the Kara-Kum Desert, dry foothills of Kopet-Dagh).

· HABITAT AND BIOLOGY. Characteristic of deserts, semi-deserts and arid foothills up to 1,500-1,700 m a.s.l. Flight period: May-June, at foothills to July.

· SIMILAR SPECIES. H. naricoides: UPF with a conspicuous dark spot at end of cell and with an obscure brown median band at costal edge; UNH veins grey. H. naricina: male androconial area narrow; UNH veins grey and median band inconspicuous, with a tooth-like angle in the middle short. H. narica: brown-black margins narrow; FW apical spot smaller; androconial area narrow; FW median band in female absent.
