· TYPE LOCALITY. "Dauria" [Transbaikalia].
· RANGE. From the Altai Mts. and Mongolia to Yakutia, the Ussuri region, NE. China and N. Korea.
· TAXONOMIC NOTES. A number of taxa have been described which can be referred to this species: mongolica Oberthur, 1876 and umbra Staudinger, 1892 from Mongolia; coriacea Seitz, 1909 from the Yablonovyi Mts. in the Chita Region; banghaasi Austaut, 1908 and albidior Austaut, 1908 from the Sayan Mts.; coreana Matsumura, 1927 and okamotonis Matsumura, 1927 from Korea; laeta Austaut, 1908 from the Ussuri region. Most authors are inclined to believe all these taxa to be only colour variations of E. urda.
· HABITAT AND BIOLOGY. Steppe-clad slopes. Flight period: June-July.
· SIMILAR SPECIES. O. nanna: UNH postdiscal band narrower and without projection along vein M3. O. brunhilda: UNS wavy pattern well-developed.
